TLC Leadership Camps
What to expect at Leadership camp:
Work together in small groups doing drills on communication and problem solving that are fun, active and all have a purpose to grow yourselves and your relationships.

Learn specific skills of communication that will lead to people feeling listened to and care for when they talk with you.

Spend meals together sharing stories with new friends in a warm, homelike atmosphere. You will appreciate the selection of foods, salads, vegetables, meats and yummy desserts for those of you who like that sort of thing.

You will be up early in the AM, actually while it is still dark usually around 6am doing some sort of physical activity, at your own desired level and pace to stretch your heart and your disciplines. You will need to be prepared to exercise and always be comfortable in the classes.

Most all of the classes will be held all together, and on some occasions we will split the Drs and the CAs to work on specific topics to help you.
You will leave with:
Powerful Skills &   Emotional Breakthroughs
7 steps of confrontation
Empathic listening
Journaling 21 day work week
I take full responsibility drills
Socratic Dialogues
  Willingness to try something new
Friendships with people who care
Deep understanding and appreciation for discipline
More stories from members who have engaged in our leadership camps:
My head is still spinning from that awesome leadership camp! I already shared some of what I learned about communication with my children. After role playing with Dr Dennis and on the way home I realized that I really do not listen to my children or validate their feelings at all! :-( I am so excited and thankful for this wonderful epiphany. Thank you so much for helping me to realize all of this.
Tracy

The leadership camp was more than I expected. I am thrilled to have been there. The journal has been a great resource for me and I will continue to write and dream things up, writing them down for reflection, and action.
Dr Jeff S.

I wanted to let you know that as I was driving home from the leadership camp, I practiced my empathetic listening and I was on the phone for over 45 minutes before the person realized and said to me. Wait, you haven't said a word. Its really powerful stuff and it really changes my perspective on people.
Dr. Brett

Many times chiropractors go to seminars, leadership camps, coaching programs expecting to come away a totally changed person, most of the time they are very disappointed. Sometimes they see massive change, only to quickly slip back to old habits. That is what is so great about TLC. Like a parent teaching their child to walk, they encourage them to take little steps, master that skill then move on to bigger steps and so on into running , then sprinting. BUT, we are not taught to sprint first. You preface all that is taught with that philosophy in mind. You constantly remind us to take one or two new habits or action steps and work on mastering them. "There is NO magic bullet." you say. Yet that is what most people are looking for. What really matters is what they do when thier feet hit the ground. I hope that all in attendance this weekend got fired up, juiced up, pumped up, and feeling great, but I pray that when they get home, that they apply just one habit they learned to their life forever. I pray for this for you as well as myself. You have given us all realistic expectations. We don't expect miracles in the truest sense of the word. But, I believe that the real miracles are hidden in the subtle little changes we consciously make each day to better ourselves and therefore the world. I believe in YOU and what you stand for because it is what I believe in and stand for. You are a friend and mentor; I have very, very few. GOD BLESS you and TLC.

This November Leadership Camp was amazing!!!
We had classes and robust dialogues and provoked our hearts to open and we started with the question of what it is that we came to camp wanting to leave with. And we realized that we needed to asses what was in our luggage that we brought and did we need to add some things to the luggage and be willing to take some things out?
We then worked on trust and the fact that not only do we have blindfolds on throughout our day in practice but where are our patients blindfolded? And what can we do to help uncover our patients’ blindfolds? Some of the areas we recognized that our patients maybe blindfolded are in the areas of:

  • Appointment compliance
  • No such thing as missed appointments
  • Spinal Workshops
  • Chiropractic is not just back pain
We then moved to seek to understand first before being understood. And the opportunity that gives us to really listen to others. We don’t have to fix everything for everyone else.

This led us into the discussion of how we are living our day. Our days must be stimulating and we discussed what we each need to do to fulfill our individual needs before we go into serve others.

“To the degree that your life is stimulating, everything you touch is stimulating.”
Set yourself up to win – live 3 days in each day: one for you, one for others, and one for your family.

We continued to ask ourselves questions such as these:

Q: What did I gain from this drill and the class that will benefit my personal life and practice?
Q: Why am I waiting to……? Live it now.

“Any level of uncomfortable chosen will be less than uncomfortable inflicted.”
